Monday Morning

Monday mornings have never looked so good. :)

Cattail Fun

An Evening Hike

We enjoyed a nice evening walk through the harvested corn field last night. I just LOVE fall, it is my favorite season! We missed Wrigley's company on our walk. He loved running back and forth on our walks looking for any birds he could find. I know Andy is missing him too, especially with hunting season. Layla had a nice walk with us. She is always much slower on the way back, but aren't we all. :)

Mealtime Entertainment

Here is a short clip from August of the girls at breakfast. At some point during every meal it normally turns into Adeline doing something to get Scarlet to laugh. Pure entertainment for all of us.

Sweet Wrigley Dog

Andy recovered a bunch of pictures from our previous laptop that crashed and I came across this picture of our sweet Wrigley dog.

Wake Up, Adeline!

I am pretty sure Scarlet is going to be the sister that is the early bird and sneaks in to Adeline's room to wake her up when the rest of the house is still sleeping. ;0)

Fun with Play Clay

Saturday Morning

These expressions are priceless.

Hiding from the paparazzi.

They are both actually sitting still!

CHEESE!

I don't think these pajamas are going to fit much longer.

Scarlet's 9 Month Check-Up

This morning, I took the girls to the doctor for flu vaccinations (Adeline was able to get the mist) and Scarlet's 9 Month Wellness Check. Scarlet weighs 21 lbs & 8 oz (90%ile), her length is 30-1/2 inches (100%ile) and her head circumference is 18 inches (90%ile). Scarlet is eating all sorts of different foods, but mostly finger foods, I just cut up what we are eating into bite size pieces. She is teething right now; getting two more teeth on top and bottom- making it a total of 8 teeth. She loves to play peek-a-boo, dance, give kisses and bang objects together. She is starting to wave. She can stand for a few moments without the support of any furniture.

Adeline and Scarlet love to dance together, it is so fun. I will have to record a video of this little move that Scarlet does when she dances, it is hilarious! She rocks her head side to side with a little neck roll when music is playing. I was so much better about taking short video clips when Adeline was a baby, I need to start carrying my video camera with me again- it is just that I have so much more to carry in my bag now. ;) Although- I don't have to carry diapers for Adeline anymore- yay! I guess I need to replace the space I had for Adeline's diapers with the video camera. Be prepared for a couple video updates in the near future.

Unexpected Turns

One of the things that I am truly embracing with being home with the girls is the chance to really enjoy the unexpected moments. We were on our way home from running a couple of errands and Katie called me. Instead of heading home, we met for a little girl's lunch and then stopped at a park on the way home. What a perfect detour. I know that I am about to sound overly symbolic and cheesy, but it is these little detours in life that we remember. I am learning that everything else can wait. As my Grandma Hughes said to me the last time I spoke to her, "Enjoy every minute, it goes way too fast." Thanks, Grandma!

Sisterly Love?!

A little trip to the zoo turned into quite the adventure. After several attempts to get into my trunk (just ask Kumari) to retrieve my stroller, I ended up renting a stroller from the zoo. That should have been my first clue. One minute, Adeline & Scarlet are getting along beautifully- giggling, "chatting", etc. (you get the picture).. then the next minute I hear a bloodcurdling scream from Scarlet. I can't quite figure out what happened until I look at Adeline and she clinches her teeth together and says, "I BITE!" (for those that know Adeline well, you can imagine her expression). Within seconds of me trying to find the wound, Kumari points to Scarlet's hand and sure enough, "I BITE" was an accurate statement. Needless to say, our trip to the zoo was kept pretty brief. We hit the desert dome and the aquarium. The pictures below sum it up. In one picture Adeline is trying to help feed Scarlet/give her a little "love tap" at the same time. I think Scarlet being so much more interactive at this age and vocal has made Adeline a little jealous. Just one of those growing pains and along with them, so does the beauty of sisterly love begin. For all of us with sisters, we know all about sisterly love. And I mean that with the most sincerity because I truly think the bond between sisters is truly amazing and at times terrifying (especially when it involves hairspray and hair scrunchies)! ;)

Girls' First Fishing Trip

What a great day! Andy got home a little earlier than expected from work, so he picked up some stuff to grill and we headed to a local park and had dinner. He also surprised Adeline with a Dora fishing pole! Needless to say, Adeline loved fishing- she also loved picking all of the dandelions out of the ground around the pond. Scarlet was interested in what was going on and especially wanted to know what was inside the tackle box.
