Meeting Up at the Zoo

Kumari & I met with the kids at the zoo this morning. We talked this morning and made a plan for meeting, but getting out of the door in time was just not in the cards for me. So about 15 minutes after I said I would be there- I was there. Luckily, Holden & Wyatt fell asleep on the way to the zoo and were able to catch some more Z's and Kumari assured me to never apologize about being late. Two carriers, a couple strollers, and snacks for a week camping trip later we made it to the zoo entrance. ;0) Then it was time for lunch. Only kidding. Kind of.

It was a beautiful morning and with school in session there are not any crowds, just the perfect amount of people. We were able to go to the cat complex, see the gorillas, lots of different birds and giraffes along the way to the petting zoo- where the kids were able to see baby goats and finish up with a ride on the carousel. We are so lucky to have such an amazing zoo right in our own city. Adeline and Holden were nonstop chatting with each other and running after each other. Wyatt & Scarlet were just happy to watch their older siblings and get some fresh air. Although, as you can see by the end of the zoo trip they were worn out. We are looking forward to more play dates with Holden & Wyatt.

Holiday Card?!

.. and this was the best picture?? That makes me think that the chance of a family holiday card will be pretty dismal. ;)

Hot Air Balloon & Wine Festival

On Friday evening, we went to the Hot Air Balloon & Wine Festival. We were able to see the process of getting the balloons ready for flight up close- truly beautiful. The festival was full of live music, food vendors, and a kid's area. Adeline ate her weight in kettle corn! She loved the pony ride and Gaga Susan treated Colin & Adeline to a face painting spectacular- Colin wanted his entire face to be Spiderman, but was persuaded to choose a more simple design by his mom. When I told Colin that I liked his spider, he quickly assured me that it wasn't a real spider on his face. As always, Scarlet was mesmerized by her surroundings and just loved to watch all of the people.

Morning at OCM

It was a rainy morning, so we decided to go to the Omaha Children's Museum- along with every other family in Omaha. I have never been when it has been so crowded. We normally go on Tuesday mornings and almost have the place to ourselves with about 10-15 other families. Although it was very crowded, we still enjoyed ourselves. Adeline didn't quite know what to think of the new dinosaur exhibit. She wanted to see the dinosaurs but wanted to be held by Gaga Susan at the same time. Although, she did enjoy smelling the dino poop. Hmmm.. :)

Summer Fun!

Some fun in the sun with the Bond & Wise crew. Lauren is a trooper for managing all of them for a picture. :)
